Growing Up - Photosynthesis

Nearly all conifers are evergreens which have needles, for example the White Spruce and Tamarack tree.

TRIVIA: Is there photosynthesis in the winter?

Yes. In cold climates, plants conserve their energy to survive by dropping their leaves. But there are some trees that don't lose their leaves: evergreens. Nearly all evergreens are conifers which have needles that enable them to photosynthesize as long as the temperature is high enough. Deciduous trees (trees that annually lose their leaves ) with green twigs are also capable of photosynthesis.
